A Dwarf Tapir skull and a Mastodon Skull Jacket from the Gray Fossil Site in Gray, TN. I took the high-poly laser scan of the Tapir skull and brought it from 1.6 million triangles down to just under 16k triangles. I then projected the detail and texture of the high-poly onto the low-poly for use in an AR Application to be used by the Gray Fossil Site. The Skull Jacket required a complete recreation of the plaster backing, and was reduced from 800K triangles down to 4,100 triangles. I constructed this simple scene to help present the skull in an interesting way.
Recreated mastodon skull jacket.
